Situation
The Procurement organization of a global paper and packaging leader embarked on a transformation of their organization. Their vision was to become a best-in-class procurement function by promoting innovation, sustainability and fostering stronger relationships with suppliers and customers. The geographic scope of the transformation included North America, LATAM, EMEA and APAC.
They sought to emerge from this journey as a valued strategic partner within the company and key contributor to the firm’s financial strength and competitive edge. The transformation involved several elements:
- Organizational restructuring and realignment
- Establishment of a global managed services partnership with an offshore outsourcing provider
- Optimized and improved source-to-pay (S2C) and procure-to-pay (P2P) processes
- Improved governance and reporting
- Deployment of new tools and technology
This transformation introduced significant change to Procurement and Operations.
